Overview
Scale Shift Effect builds its 31 presets around extreme size or time. Many are long zooms across scales or scenes where the person grows or shrinks, and others set the subject beside something enormous, like a 40-meter beast rising out of desert sand.
Galaxy to Human Eye starts on a spiral galaxy, passes the Sun and Earth, finds the subject at a café table in a European city and pushes into one of their eyes. Ocean Trench to Surface begins with the subject in a rowboat, dives eleven kilometers to the trench floor and climbs back. In Giant City Stomp the person becomes a giant on a downtown avenue, and in Ant Scale Meadow they shrink to ant height. A few presets hold one view while years pass, as when an empty plot turns into a megacity behind the subject.
Your portrait sets the face. Location, camera path, timing and sound belong to the preset.
What you can build
Openers for science and space channels are the obvious fit, along with app features that show users as a giant or a miniature. The sci-fi presets, like the generation ship tour or the O'Neill space colony zoom, double as world-building teasers.
Inputs
The input is one portrait (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP or HEIC), ideally front-facing and well lit at 1024×1024 or more. Earth Zoom Robot Workshop Reveal is the one preset with a second slot, which takes a reference image for the robot companion.
Mode, frame and length are the remaining settings: Standard (720p) or Pro (1080p); 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1; 5, 10 or 15 seconds.
Outputs
Output is a single MP4. Sound effects are generated with the video and follow the scene, from water lapping on a rowboat to bulldozers and pile drivers.
Limitations
Some presets keep the person small or off screen for long stretches. In Coast Evolution 10,000-Year Dolly the face appears only in the closing shot.
