Text to speech models and APIs.
Turn text into natural speech for narration, products and voice agents. Compare voices, languages and price per run, including open-weight models.
How to pick a text to speech model
The main questions are which languages you need, whether you need a particular voice, and whether the audio has to start playing right away.
Most natural voices
Eleven V4 from ElevenLabs is the most used voice model on Wiro, with expressive delivery and wide language coverage. Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS is a strong alternative, with tags to control tone and pacing.
Dialogue and apps that talk back
Eleven V4 Dialogue turns a multi-speaker script into a single audio track. Eleven V4 Turbo is the faster version for apps that speak to users in real time.
Open models and many languages
OmniVoice covers more than 600 languages, MOSS-TTS v1.5 31 and Chatterbox Multilingual 23, and all three can clone a voice from a short clip. Kokoro is a small, quick model for clean narration.
Turkish
EMA Lightning is built for Turkish and can stream audio while it is being generated.
Frequently asked questions
How is text to speech priced?
The ElevenLabs models charge per character of input text, so the cost follows the length of your script. Other models charge per run or by how long they run. The model page shows the method and the rate.
Can I use my own voice?
Yes, with a cloning model. OmniVoice, MOSS-TTS v1.5 and Chatterbox Multilingual work from a short reference recording. See all voice cloning models.
What audio format do I get?
Usually an MP3 or WAV file. The ElevenLabs models export MP3, and EMA Lightning returns WAV.
Can speech start playing before it is finished?
With some models, like EMA Lightning and the realtime models. For live, two-way conversations, see the realtime voice models.
