30-Second Clips in a Single Request
Seedance 2.0 caps out at 15 seconds. Seedance 2.5 doubles that to 30, and you can request any whole second between 4 and 30, so a 23-second cut doesn’t have to be trimmed down from 30. One request, one continuous shot, no stitching.
Images, Video, and Audio in One Prompt
Seedance 2.5 Reference accepts 30 reference images, 10 reference videos, and 10 reference audio files in one request, against 9 images and 3 audio clips on Seedance 2.0. Address them directly in the prompt as [Image 1], [Video 1], [Audio 1] and say what to keep and what to change. Reference images and audio are not charged.
Motion Transfer, Editing, and Extension
Feed up to 10 reference clips (2–30 seconds each, 30 seconds total) and Seedance 2.5 Reference will copy their motion onto a new subject, edit the scene, or extend the shot. This is the capability Seedance 2.0’s base model has no equivalent for. Previously you had to reach for a separate V2V model.
Synced Audio, and .mov When You Need It
Audio is generated with the visuals, so tyre crunch, wind, and room tone land on the action rather than being dubbed on afterwards. New in 2.5: export as .mov to retain higher colour precision for grading, keying, and compositing, or stick with .mp4, which plays everywhere.

Which Seedance Model Should You Call?
Newer isn’t automatically better. Pick by the constraint that actually binds your project.
You need longer than 15 seconds
Seedance 2.5 is the only model in the family that reaches 30 seconds in a single shot. If your cut is 16–30 seconds, the decision is already made.
You need 1080p or 4K
Seedance 2.5 tops out at 720p. If you are delivering to a large screen or need genuine 4K masters, Seedance 2.0 is still the right call.
You need motion transfer or video editing
Feed reference clips to copy motion, edit a scene, or extend a shot. Price is calculated from actual token usage after generation.
You are volume testing on a budget
Seedance 2.0 Fast starts at $0.22 per request and Mini at $0.18. Prototype cheaply, then move the winning prompts up to 2.5.
You need reproducible output
Seedance 2.0 exposes a seed parameter for controlling randomness. Seedance 2.5 does not, so identical inputs will still vary between runs.
Your footage is heading into a grade
Request outputFormat: "mov" for higher colour precision through keying, compositing, and colour grading in post.
